The problem with getting the copy from the FCC's site is it has the words "Official Copy" diagonally across the entire 5x7 document, in a very visible watermark. Interestingly, the wallet-size copy does not have that watermark anywhere, just the opposite of what it should be.

Yes, there is a difference in screws/screwdrivers, especially when it comes to radios. Ever wonder why you're stripping screw heads on your radios? It's probably because you're using Phillips screwdrivers in a screw designed for JIS screwdrivers. See attachment.

The thing is, my 8100 has an auto power off timer (lowest is 1 hour) so dead batteries have been rare. However, it would also time out on me if I was driving for an hour or more and didn't use the radio.
