Re: Auxilary Communications Course
Seems as though not all the information on Aux Comm is being properly deceminated. Auxillary Communications will not, I repeat, will not replace ARES! This is right from Montana State DES Office. They are working on a letter to help put out the fire with ARES and Aux Comm. NOW....The other issue peo...

Re: Harmful Interference
Jim, Thanks for the response. The interference did disappear after that single night. It was unbelieable to have a 40 over signal on FM, LSB and AM with the same dead carrier interference. It was steady with no deviation. But has since disappeared. Like I sayed, seemed as though someone's radio was ...

Re: So now what?
I took the entire course and at the end it asked if I wanted to sign up as a spotter. I said yes, but haven't heard anything since. Is there something else I need to do to get signed up as an "official" spotter? Emory, There is nothing else to do. Some area's do assign a spotter number, b...

Re: ARRL Radio Gram Instructions
If you have Windows Vista or 7, you have built-in speech-to-text control. Add a microphone and spend about 30 minutes on the tutorial and you can talk to your computer; have it open programs, write e-mails, etc., all by talking to it. It's pretty good actually. For full-time use though, Naturally S...
